~250 shot, is this 383 bottom end okay???

I plan on spraying my stroker with a NX 200-300 shot. I am about to build up a 383 LT4 motor. I already have the heads ported, I am going with a custom Cam Motions cam, and I need to piece my bottom end components together.
I was thinking of going with a Callies Dragonslayer 3.75 forged crank, Lunati Pro-Mod Rods, and forged JE/SRP forged pistons, along with Clevite bearings and Hellfire rings.

I was told that this might be a little overkill for my application. I was told to go with the Eagle forged 4340 setup of rods/crank and the JE pistons.

My plans are for a street cruiser car first and foremost, with the occasional NX shot at the track. Occasional as in maybe 2 trips a month with about 6 sprays per trip.

Also, what length rods do you go with a stroker nitrous motor? 6 inch or 5.85 inch.

Also, what type of pistons do I want to go with? I don't understand the -16cc stuff. I want a high compression 383.

Thanks

What you posted should me more than fine for a 250 shot. Just make sure you go with 4 bolt splayed mains.

As for pistons, look at nitrous specific pistons. They have lower ringlands to keep away from the heat/pressure. The dish helps establish the compression ratio. A larger dish makes for a lower compression in most cases. Look for a nitrous piston in the range of 11:1 compression for a pump gas engine. Depending on fuel in your area (93) you could go 12:1 with a good tune. But high compression engines 13:1 and such usually require high octane gas which gets to be money for street driving.

Also do lots of searching here or on LS1techs nitrous section before you go spraying a large shot. You need to consider plugs and fuel and more.

From what I understand a 5.85 rod is probably better, but many manufactures make nitrous pistons for a 6.0 rod. If you don't mind a 2 month wait you could go with a custom piston and make it do what ever you want. My setup is a 6.0 rod with a custom nitrous piston from Diamond for 11:1 compression.

I have splayed mains, Cola crank, Lunati Pro Mods (5.85) and J/E pistons. Spray it with 300 shot countless times. Just have a good fuel system and tune and you should be fine. It definitely will find the weak links in the drivetrain.
