Where did u mount your solenoids??

Hey i was just seeing where everyone mounts there solenoids. I am pretty sure i want to make a little plate and use the passenger side front fuel rail bolt to make it hang out and mount the solenoids on that plate. Does that sound like a good idea?? Thanks, Dustin.

Re: Where did u mount your solenoids??

If you want them visible you can mount them where you said. I have mounted them inside the wiper cowl, I have put them in the donkey dong (bring your lines in the bottom, solenoids inside and make a plate to put the nozzle at the top of the dong where it's hidden, and I've put them under a dummy ASR (traction control) housing. All of them work well and it's hard to spot the setup.

Re: Where did u mount your solenoids??

I am not really concerned about hiding it really. My engine compartment needs a lil dressin up with those shinging solenoids anyway. I have had my car for over a year and raced countless people and have never had one person ask to look under my hood for mods so its not that big a deal to not be hidin. You guys have some good ideas tho, keep em comin.

I have them mounted on the passenger side under my STB. I also paint them black so they look like part of the motor. There is a pic in my web page.

Re: Where did u mount your solenoids??

Hey 94blackz i like your set up. How did u bend that bracket to match those bolts? I went out today and bought some 1 1/2in wide x 1/8 thick aluminum today to make my plate out of. By using the fuel rail bolt i am not sure how i can keep the plate level bc the rail isnt smooth and it has that little hump in it so i am going to have to figure something out there, maybe some small washers or something. My email is anjusticeforall@hotmail.com is that what u tried? I just went there and deleted some messages so i know its still active. Maybe u can try again sometime? Thanks for the responces guys, it looks like u have some good set-ups. Peace, Dustin.

Re: Where did u mount your solenoids??

I just bent it in a vise and used the trial and error method. My bracket was attached to an intake manifold bolt. The one I used had the stud sticking out above the bolt head. I don't know if that particular bolt is in the correct location because I have had my intake off quite a few times now, and who knows if I got the bolts in the correct order. Anyways the bolt on the manifold and the second from the front valve cover bolt lined up with each other and gave me the locations needed to mount the bracket to. Hope that helps, and good luck with your setup.

Kewl, looks like u got a pretty good setup there. How did u keep those solenoids in place? I didnt see any kind of plate holding them.
