Shop to do M6 to A4 Swap?

I was wondering if anyone knew a good F-Body shop in So Cal that does M6 to A4 conversions. Does anyone know the total cost of this conversion process (including transmission, convertor, other parts, reflashing computer, etc and labor). Thanks.

where in Socal are you. If you can get the parts i could do the install if you're near San Diego. You can usually get a complete swap kit for about 1500 plus shipping from a couple places online. Used tranny of course from an f-body salvage yard or something. I don't remember the names of the places that have them off hand. I suggest a new clutch even if the tranny you get comes with one. so about another 3-600 bucks depending on what you get there. And about depending on where you go for labor.. anywhere between 500-1200 bucks depending on how good the person you get a quote from thinks he is.

89LT1Formula, oh, I already have an M6 and want to swap it for an A4, so I don't need to worry about the clutch. Have you done this before? I was reading some posts and it seems very complex, especially going TO an A4 because of extra sensors? I would like to have everything work like cruise control, etc, just as if I had bought the car as an automatic. If it's too much work I might just sell the car.

What year is your car. I have done M6 to A4 swaps before. Honestly the easiest way to do it is to find a engine harness from an A4 to swap the whole thing out. If you let me know the year of your car i could probably come up with an Auto harness for it and maybe even find you a tranny. Give me some details on your car so i know what to look for.

It's a 2000 Camaro SS. Would stuff like cruise control work after the swap? And does swapping from manual to auto violate any smog laws? Thanks.

It doesn't violate any smog laws to switch to Auto.. and the cruise will work. Let me talk to a buddy of mine to see if he has what you need to do the swap. I'll let ya know what i find out.

Give Haddad Motorsports a call.. They are good friends of mine and they do awesome work! They have done many a4-m6 swaps and vice versa, and can definatly do the swap for you, re-flash the computer for you and throw it on their dynopak dyno and even tune the thing for you. They offer extremely good shop rates as well. Give them a call at 310-412-8032, and ask for Mike, and tell him that Mike sent you. Yes, his name is Mike and so is mine.

You can also check them out at http://www.haddadmotorsports.com

Good Luck!
