Unless you're doing unequal sized rims front and back, i'd stick with 275/40/17 all around.
A. They're the most popular size for a 17" rim i think
B. They're the stock height
C. You can rotate them when you want to.
I think a 295 on a Firehawk rim would not match the front's smaller 265 or 275 tire. It will sit on the rim totally different.
PS. Who makes a 295 sized 17" tire?

no one denny........just getting some rough numbers together.yeah i checked those out james after you told me about them...still up in the air for now. need to figure out the right profile. i have to find out what the stock tire height is so i can work from there.
i don't want to try and fit a 40 series when i should have went 35 because of the size of the tire.
thanks for the replies guys.
these are the measurements i've come to find for my stock 245/50/r16 rim and tire....
what do you think?
sidewall is 4.8 in
radius is 12.8 in
diameter is 25.6 in
circumf is 80.6
revs/mi is 786.0
no according to the tire calculator i can go with a 275/40/y17 and only be a .1 larger in diameter for the front with everything else being even. it measures up:
sidewall is 4.3 in
radius is 12.8 in
diameter is 25.7 in
circumference is 80.6 in
revs/mi is 786.0 in
i can go 295/40/17 and it measures up:
sidewall is 4.6 in
radius is 13.1 in
diameter is 26.3 in
circumference is 82.6 in
revs/mi is 767.0
do you think this should work alright....if i go witha 35 series in the back the rear will be lower. this way there is only a slight lift in the rear.
