The take offs from SLP are 245/50/16 Goodyear GSC's. I have them on my Camaro although I did'nt buy them from SLP.The price is'nt bad but they absolutely kill you to ship them to MI from NJ.I checked when I bought mine and I think total shipped for 4 was like $550-$600.FYI.

My experience.... Falken Ziex They cost me $500 installed for the set of 4 and I cut a 1.878 60' at Stanton on 13 year old stock suspension with 1/8" of tread. And the act very nice at 145mph

145 huh.........

pretty nice.

anyone know any truth to going a size smaller in the rear when you have a rear tire combo that's wide such as a 275 upfront and a 295 in the rear?

by this i mean for instance a 40 series in the front and a 35 in the rear or a 35/30....rather than a 40/40 or 35/35 all around. i heard that by going with a wider tire the sidewalls are a little higher so if you go with a step down it will even out. most pro-touring cars are set up like this.

255/40/17 up front... 25.0" tall

315/35/17 out back... ~25.57" tall

I like the look of the shorter tire up front. It adds rake to the car slightly, and when I lower it, there will be more clearance all around the tire. They're rough considering they're supposed to be a full blown AutoCross tire but i have some Koni Yellows sitting here waiting for install...that should make it rougher along with the springs. haha

I used to have a 245/45/17 up front but i didn't like the look. That is closer to 26" tall. I had rubbage when I turned the wheel to full lock. Then I also had 275/40/17 Nitto Drags out back which are 25.5-26" tall and that works good too but ou know that already. later

Jeff the shorter the side wall the less traction drag racing. That is unless you are going to use some DR's.

totally separate wheels for racing....

just want some good wheels for the street and opinions on what others are running that have 17 or 18 sizees.

do you know what tire sizes i would need if i were running a 17 rim to keep everything proportional from the old 245/50/16's?

It depends if you want the front and back the same sizes. I would go with a 255/45/17 front and a 275/45/17 rear. It would give the back a little more rubber and help it sit nice.
