which shift kit for my 700r4?

and yes ,I do have a 700r4 from a 3rd gen. not the 4L60e.

whats the diff. between the summit kit for $140 TRG-700 or the ebay one for $81 th700R4 2&3? is the only diff. the video? I dont really need that. Id rather pay for the more expensive one if it has more hard parts (I see the gaskets, correct drill bits, 2 and 4 apply pistons (I think thats whats in the pic on summits site. Ive seen this kit for the 4L60E (looks exactly like whats in the 700r4 kit) and the box on the ebay site is totaly different. the summit kit is very nice in that all the parts are in seperate bags inside the package. I thought that was very nice touch to simplify the process.

Chris,
They are the same kit minus the video. The one on ebay is a comercial shop kit the summit one is for the general public with a vid for dummies and a $12 servo. Not worth almost double the $$.Search ebay as i think someone else has a better price. Steven

thans steven, thats what I thought.

and Mnerat, one day. but for now I dont need to swap out the 700r4. it'll take mid11's all day. but for my next trick (nitrous) I may have to give up the OD. seen many guys go mid-low 10's on a 700r4, but it has to be built right for that. I already have a 350 AND a 400 here to build up for that step. but hopefully this trans will hold up to mid 10's for me on the juice and i'll use the 3 speed in my iroc, that will be more of a track car then a street car like this one. the trans in my car now has all the good clutch packs and some other opgrades, but w/o a shift kit it doesnt shift fast/hard enough for me, and I want the option to shift any gears at any speeds.

Did you like the way my corvette shifted? I put the Transgo shift kit and drilled some "extra" holes. I think you can get the Transgo shift kit exactly like what Summit sells minus the video for $75 from Transtar off of Schoolcraft. It comes with written directions.

Would the kit that I have work for you Chris? I need to unload this thing. Let me know and I will make it well worth it to you.

Thanks,

Bill

unfortunatly I think its different. I have to believe atleast the hole locations in the valve body plate are totally different location.

I probably got it 3 years ago roughly, 5K miles( I used to actually DRIVE this car), $900 is the price, more than 50% off. Payments!?! I did a glide with a brake and a Fuddle 4K stall that actually sees 5000 on the brake N/A(oops FUDDLE!!). I want to spray it tomorrow or sunday at lapeer and see how much higher it stalls out of the hole. My guess is around 6000 on a 150 jet. I think it'll run like a beast still but over winter it'll get tightened up to around 4000 N/A so I can spray it harder and still be in the powerband. Shiftpoint is 7000 give or take.

well, did you make it to lapeer? any N20 passes? I was over steve's house helping with the wiring on his TA and he mentioned you were goin to try to get out there and make some N20 passes.
fuddle is back up and operating, we'll see how they take care of you on that though. Im glad my fuddle purchase didnt work out and I went with an edge converter. its perfect. what kind of times you seeing with that car? steve thinks it was low 11's? what kind of 60's? you should hit high 10's N/A with the stall straightened around Id think if your running 11.3's now. what rpm does it hit after it shifts into high gear? (what does it drop down to?)

as for the probuilt, DAMN. you spent over $1800 for it? ouch. what kind of times was the car running with that trans?
