This is really bugging me now

I went back and looked at my time slips from Sunday. Last year off the juice I was running 13.80-13.90 with a 1.9XX 60', Sunday I was running 13.40's with the SAME 1.9XX 60'. I dropped a half second off the ET but with the same 60'. What's with that? So obviously in my own mind I'm making more power, probably up farther in the rpm band? I'm running a 3200 converter and launching at about 2500 now, same as last year. I'm not spinning as far as I can tell.

Any suggestions, comments, quotes, tip of the day, etc.

ON a side note, I still have the 2.73's in so I can't complain too much . Wish I could get some documented proof of what switching over to a 3.42 or 3.73 from the 2.73 would give me.

Regards
Skip

Your 60' time does not measure horsepower, your mph does. You can hook up better with gear, slicks, converter, drag shocks and torque arm, but that is using your available horsepower more efficently. Are your trap speeds different?

Robvas, with just a converter change last year I went from 14.40's to 13.90's with the 2.73's. That was a big improvement. I'd have never thought that a converter would do that much!

Jack, I picked up about 2mph. I looked at my timeslips from last year and I was running 13.90s at about 98-99mph with a 1.98 60'and after the heads cam and headers swap I ran 13.40s at 101.58mph with a 1.93 60' . (NO N2O)

FWIW I'm at the same ET and mph that I ran last year with a 75hp shot. so I guess the swap did make some changes in the right direction. Would you think going to 3.73's would help? I'd like to at least break into the 12's with this combo. Most people tell me I should be able to get into the 12's on stock heads/cam.
