sorry to hear about your car. did they act. tell you they started itup? what the hell would they do that for? Im sure you told them you DIDNT start it on purpose right? the better thing to do would have been to take off the oil pan and insp. a couple main bearings and make sure the crank turns easily. not start it.
and not all dealership mech. are such @55 holes.
I personally bend over fricken backwards trying to take care of customers. fbody owners esp. since I share the pasion for the cars also.
signed,
a dealership mech. that doesnt rip people off

Chris there are still a few good wrenches around, you included...but theres still the kickback problem at most dealerships. The service writer writes as much as he can, the tech gets more hours in the job, and in return the writer gets a little kickback from the tech. Tell me you haven't seen it happen?

I know there are techs out there that are like this, and its very frustrating to me to see people that think all us dealership techs are like that. and by the way, Im speaking of only customer pay jobs here. not warranty. the warranty companies are blood suckers and they rob us every chance they get by the rediculous labor times they make us work for. so we show no mercy to them, but not customers.
anyways I hope your car comes out ok v6maro.
chris
Wow, I can't believe that they did that, either someone there is really stupid, or they're trying to milk you for as much as possible. Working at a dealership myself (trainee tech), I've never heard of anything resembling kickbacks (I'd know, there are only 3 techs me and an oil change guy here). We don't get paid enough to give back to the writers, and honestly we are much more likely to end up doing something for free or not enough (warranty), than getting a fair amount of hours. Oh well, I guess its just a matter of which dealer you go to.
another teech who doesn't rip people off.
