Ok, got in an accident, ran over a cement island curb and tore off the oil pan, oil drained out last tuesday night.
I had the ca towed to buff whaelan chevrolet.
they started my car yesterday for 2 seconds with no oil in it to check for knock and to see if anything else was messed up on it....GRRRR
Could they have f'd my motor? What about my bearings?
I am soooo upset they didnt ask me b 4 they started it, what do you think? Is my motor trash now?

Buff Whelan is a bunch of rip-off artists. My step-mom took her new blazer in 3 times for trans problems. They supposedly replaced it 3 times. Lemon law follows next...
Anyhow theres a game going on in dealerships all over the country. The service writer writes you for anything they can just so the tech gets a lot of hours on his check, then the tech kicks back the service writer. I know for a fact this goes on over at Buffs, I know a few guys that used to work there.
And to answer your question- NO they had NO business starting your car up with NO OIL IN IT. @SSHOLES!

It may be a hike for you but you may want to call Lou LaRiche here in Plymouth. They are an awesome dealership. Scott Settlemire hooked me up with them when I was having problems with my 01 at Gordon. It won't hurt to give them a call...explain your problem and see what they can do.

I wish you the best of luck straightening this out. I've heard some horror stories before but I've never heard of a dealership turning over a motor with no oil like that. Something shady has to be going on over there at that dealer.

Steve they might give you a hassle about the mods though... Just something to consider. If they end up replacing the engine they won't do anything as far as replacing the mods.

Lou is the sponsoring dealership for the Eastern Michigan Camaro Club...they are pretty cool when it comes to cars that have mods.
The worst thing to do is call and get bitchy with someone. It doesn't always work. And can even be harmful in the longrun.

I'll second Lou Lariche in Plymouth. They're alright for being a dealer.

I dislike most dealers and only go to them when absolutely necessary. I bought my car from a dealer only because they were the only ones who could get it. I haven't been back since. Local shops where you can get to know the mechanics are the only place for me.

Are you replacing the wheels now or what?
