Buff Whelan is a bunch of rip-off artists. My step-mom took her new blazer in 3 times for trans problems. They supposedly replaced it 3 times. Lemon law follows next...

Anyhow theres a game going on in dealerships all over the country. The service writer writes you for anything they can just so the tech gets a lot of hours on his check, then the tech kicks back the service writer. I know for a fact this goes on over at Buffs, I know a few guys that used to work there.

And to answer your question- NO they had NO business starting your car up with NO OIL IN IT. @SSHOLES!

You should call the area GM service Rep and have a talk with him.

It may be a hike for you but you may want to call Lou LaRiche here in Plymouth. They are an awesome dealership. Scott Settlemire hooked me up with them when I was having problems with my 01 at Gordon. It won't hurt to give them a call...explain your problem and see what they can do.

Steve most dealers are *******s. The number is in the back of your owners manual. Trust me, its the best thing to do. Get of the regional gm reps on the phone and let him know what they did. Tell him the whole story and go from there. that way ou have a back up if the dealer tries to **** ya.

Steve they might give you a hassle about the mods though... Just something to consider. If they end up replacing the engine they won't do anything as far as replacing the mods.

I wish you the best of luck straightening this out. I've heard some horror stories before but I've never heard of a dealership turning over a motor with no oil like that. Something shady has to be going on over there at that dealer.

I went into Lou LaRiche with my dual cut-outs on and they knew I had used nitrous. They replaced my engine no questions asked and I got to drive one of their vehicles for the month my car was down. All this was done at 32,000 miles.

Lou is the sponsoring dealership for the Eastern Michigan Camaro Club...they are pretty cool when it comes to cars that have mods.

The worst thing to do is call and get bitchy with someone. It doesn't always work. And can even be harmful in the longrun.

Most dealers are total crooks. I have had horrible problems with GM dealers in particular, it's one of the reasons I haven't bought a new GM vehicle since 1993.

I'll second Lou Lariche in Plymouth. They're alright for being a dealer.

I can't say they're all bad but a majority of them are looking out for the big dollar and thats how they train their service writers. Its sad when they over-write a job just to make themselves some side cash

I dislike most dealers and only go to them when absolutely necessary. I bought my car from a dealer only because they were the only ones who could get it. I haven't been back since. Local shops where you can get to know the mechanics are the only place for me.
