New to board

Hey all, newbie here.

Bought my Z at the end of September.... just in time to store it .

Check sig

Loved it the month I drove it.. first performance car for me. Was thinking of buying a mustang.. till I realized everyone else had one!

Was wondering what all you Canucks do for parts... get raped on shipping, try and find a Canadian supplier.. smuggle em across the border, etc?

Also, Any recommended speed shops or good shops for installs around London, Ontario? Any input will be appreciated Willing to drive as far as Windsor or Toronto if absoloutely needed.

Thanks in advance.

BTW, you guys have some nice cars

Hey.....we've chatted before, but I'll give you an **OFFICIAL** "Welcome to the Board" .

There is a ton of tech info to be learned here (you can become an LT1 / LS1 "guru" with all the rest of us!) and all the other forums are useful as well.

For parts? Ugh..........I hate being Canadian for that. Well, I've bought a couple parts from across the border through the "Buy & Sell" section on this board, and I think a lot of guys use eBay as well (depending whether you're looking for new or used).

Hopefully some of the south-western Ontario guys will help ya more on that (Taner, RomanSS, TransamTom maybe?) .

Again, welcome to your new "home away from home @ home"!!

Welcome to the board.

As for parts, it's up to you all of the above will work you will need to see what is worth it. Shop around sometimes the prices in Canada are pretty close to the U.S. prices, sometimes they are way out to lunch.

For installs, it depends on what you need/ want. We do alot of our own work. We get our machining done locally and not so local. We get all of our frame work/ roll cages done here right in windsor.

Lucky for you happen to have a couple of the fastest 6 speeds in the world close by.

I'd be up for buying everyone a round..

cept i'm not the LEGAL drinking age yet.. bwahhaha
(im only 18)

Thanks for the responses and welcomes all, I hope to one day become a guru such as yourselves. For now, I am a LS1 Padawan (sorry, Star Wars on TV right now.)

This car is too addictive... get me away from it. The deeper I go into everything the harder it is to resist... NOOOOOOOOO I've think i've been bitten by "the bug"

Gonna call LGMotorsports soon and get some chassis/suspension pieces for first mods.. not sure on their difficulty to install tho.

Mods (planned)
Eibach springs (Pro-Kit)
Bilstein HD shocks
G2 Adj PHR
G2 LCA's w/Reloc. Brackets
G2 Airbox
G2 Subframes w/vbrace

What do you guys think it would cost to get me all these parts installed + an alignment from an average shop?

Thanks again

BTW,

being 18 and all, some of you are probably wondering about funds

I'm paying for it ALL myself, including the car, everything.. working in a factory, as an apprentice machinist. love the job. still living at home, everything is pure profit

thought i'd mention it before you guys got any wrong impressions or anything

Welcome to the boards and congratulations on the purchase.

Paying for it yourself means you'll enjoy it all the more. Wow... you have a mod list already...
