Need my cars paint polished
I have a buddy in South Lyon that does detailing at very reasonable prices. I can PM you his number if I can find his business card. The best part is, he will even come to you in most cases!
EDIT: Crap! I can't find his business card. If you are interested, let me know and I will call him and get his business number.

you could try a very soft abrasive paint cleaner. i would start with a show polish... some examples would be meguiars professional stage 3 or similar mothers application. wizards products are great if you can find them.
but if you have clear coat that is weathered/hazed this will work... if you have a repaint chances are you could burn the paint.
there are so many factors but if your already unhappy with your paint a fine abrasive cleaner might work for you and won't really harm your car too much if you use it properly.
if you just don't want to take the chance pay someone but you'll pay 4-5 times more then what it should cost you to do it yourself.
he probably needs a 2 stage polishing with a foam pad, possibly wool if theres any bad scratching. Id be willing to do it, but I already have more sidejobs lined up this summer than im going to be able to do. A proper detailing is ALWAYS more than worth the money if its done right. Almost every car I do I get "really it costs that much?" before I start, and then when Im done it turns into "wow are you sure thats all I owe you, I feel like Im ripping you off"

are you sure its a two stage paint job? seems like the old school single stage paint would do what your saying, but not clear coat systems. usually with clear coat it'll get cloudy/dull, but not diff. shades of color.
87 good chance it's single stage which is much easier to "buff" if it's been that long the chances of restoring the car to look new is pretty slim but you never know. i don't know of anyone i could recommend that it wouldn't cost you a few hundred for something like that unless it was a two stage that was garaged and then i doubt that's what you have. personally if it's that old of a repaint i'd try it myself.
good luck, hope you find someone...
