LT-1 won't start

Started the car up the other day ('97 Z28 Lt-1), let it run for about 10-15 mins, get up to temp and then it just died and wouldn't start back up. Has solid fuel pressure but no spark. I havn't had time to get in there and start diagnosing the problem but was wondering if anyone had any hints as to what it could be? Opti? Or how to track it down?

Make sure the coil gives out spark then move to the opti as that would be next in line from the coil. If you're lucky its just the coil.

yeah, the coils go out all the time, and dont forget to make sure its not just a coil wire. any corrosion in the wire end and it could be the problem.

Re: LT-1 won't start

Cheked voltage going to the coil, it's getting 12V. Checked if coil is sparking it is. Checked if plug wires from opti are sparking, they aren't, but as I was doing this a strong flashing spark coming from the top of the opti was catching my eye. Turns out the coil wire at the opti had somehow backed itself off. Plugged it back back into the opti and she fired right up. Dumb, yes but at least it didn't cost me anything.
