This sounds pretty cool. I just found out about the michigan forum the other day. I'm not very knowledgeable about LS1's but I'd like to hang out with some people that are.

Hey QuickSilver02 why don't you bring over all those goodies in you're basement and let the mods begin

Man, I wish I could bring my car. Still no paint and no insurance Oh man, and no tires for my new wheels

This is on saturday right? I think I will still go just to help everyone or something.

So far, I dont think there's any cars that'll be showing up, which makes it hard to modify them.

There's mine, I suppose, but about the only things I have that we could work on are tedious boring stuff:

Hours of grinding on the cylinder head ports,
re-pinning the #165 ECM harness for use with the #730 ECM,
yanking the 305 from the engine bay,
driving a pilot bearing into the new crankshaft,
Re-fitting some interior pieces,
Running a power line to the reverse lockout solenoid,
Retrofitting in the 8000 RPM speedometer,
Pulling the Crane Hi-6 ignition module for sending to Crane for repair

Nothing where we'd end up with a running car by the end of the day. Quite the contrary, I should probably get the new engine running on the dyno before yanking out the 305.

I'll know soon if this event's going to be boom or bust

I can bring mine...

Need to replace rear rotors and pads (if Autozone has 'em in stock). Don't know how to do it myself. Someone told me I might need a special tool??? Brakes aren't technically a mod, but it'd be something. Let me know...

Well, in that case, maybe I could bring my car. It would be fun putting the stereo in, and finishing the t-top conversion.

I just don't know how I would get it there. I don't want to put insurance on it yet, when it won't be done for a few more weeks.

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I'm POSTPONING the MODFEST

Tell you what,

It doesn't look like we've got much to do in terms of actual modding of cars, so I want to postpone the event until fall, perhaps the week before M9.

Sorry folks, but there doesn't seem to be much interest at this time. SSpdDmon, there's no problems in doing those brakes. Buy the parts and bring them over. It's a two hour job, MAX. That includes beer time.

NotStock, I'm sorry 'bout that, but if you don't have a handy way to bring it over, then maybe we should just wait for a better time.

Maybe May is just too busy for people.

Oh, in case anyone wants to know, I did take the cylinder heads to a professional today to have them finish up the porting. Pierce racing will tidy up my exhaust ports and work the short-side radii, as well as cut better valve seats.

I might be able to get the car running this fall, at least through open headers, anyway.
