I need volunteers who will help out as both technical resources, safety stewards, parts hounds, pizza grabbers, hot dog cookers, mechanical assistants, and slot car pit crews.

If you have something you would like to modify on your car, this might be the day for you. Potential projects could include:

Intake swaps,
1LE or Corvette brake retrofits,
Cat-back exhaust systems,
axle swaps & rear suspension upgrades,
torque converter swaps,
Powdercoating & plenum porting,
Header installations
stereo installations

Yes, I could probably find them, but I dont own an LT1 97 Firebird! You'll have to bring your own parts, I am afraid!

Welcome to the forums! CamaroZ28.com is one of the largest, most active automotive website on the internet, and there is usually something going on. Being from Grand Blanc, you are literally surrounded by enthusiasts. There's a bunch in the Flint through Pontiac corridor. They do various stuff like LAN parties, hockey, bumper cars, etcetera. Check out Mowtown Muscle's website, it's an affiliated car club in your area.

Yes, your friends are invited, as this is a participant-driven event. We'll have to make our own fun - I'm only providing the venue, the participants will be making the Modfest work.

I will allow someone to give me the $750 for the 98+ front brake kit. I'll also allow someone to swap in an Ls1 and T56, won't even charge you a penny.

Seriously, I can probably help a bit with turning wrenches or eating, i mean getting pizza/ burgers/ dogs. I have some tools, a 3/8" and 1/2" air gun, 3/8" air wrench as well as assorted sockets, wrenches and such.

Cool! I do have the air tools covered already, but if you bring your own tools, just make sure they are labeled or otherwise kept separate from other people's tools. I have a lot of sockets, wrienches, pliers, screwdrivers, die grinders, air wrenches, and stuff already that will be available for use. Some stuff that will be handy to bring include an extra floor jack and four jack stands, and a welder. I only have enough jackstands for one car.

There's a lightly used Neal 2700 RPM torque converter sitting here that needs a new home in a 700R4 transmission. Anyone up for swapping it into their car? I'll sell it for $150 and we'll even help install it!

I think a lowering kit would be the perfect mod for the modfest. It's entirely possible to do it in a day or less. If we get a welder we could even install the lower control arm relocation brackets onto the axle.

What I'm going to do is send an email to everyone that replys to this thread with the driving directions when the date gets closer.

However, don't worry - It's easy to find. Haslett is just a few miles northeast of East Lansing, in Meridian Township. It's six miles north of the Okemos Road exit on I96, and about four miles south of exit I94 on I69, the East Lansing/Marsh Road exit.

Eh...I can't really afford the springs and shocks by then so I guess i'm out for my mods, but I may still stop by to give a hand and then head to Stanton for TNT at 4:00pm if anyone is done by then and wants to head to the track that would be cool

Sorry to hear that you wont be working on the car. So far, I haven't had too many folks reply so it looks like we might be doing the LS1 install for Mike!

Actually, I just ordered some more parts for my engine, maybe if I get my heads back, we'll finish assembling the long block???

I really want to do something to my car, problem is, I jsut got a job (start monday), so I don't have money to get stuff to put on my car. Anyone good at fixing the a/c compressor clutch on an 89 T/A?

I could use some help in getting the last reminants of my cat from my muffler, its making a horrible rattling noise
Though, now that the pieces that were blocking off my exhaust are gone, my car feels a lot faster. Louder too.

I had really wanted to get my LS1 brakes done, but with no $$ I don't have 'em. Sorry about being one less car to mod
