Insurance questions
Who do you guys insure your cars through? And what are the rates like?
I've heard of F-bods being insured for agreed value of $30k for $400/year.
Most policy writers have disclaimers about mods made with "the intent of increasing a vechicle's speed".
This means specialty car insurance will be necessary to retain all liabilty coverages, not to mention all of the cash I've spent on the car itself.
Our cars don't qualify for "collector" car status (not old enough).
What choices are left? Somebody local would be great.

I have state farm. My 93 Trans am has 23k on it. I now drive it once every 6 months and put about 300 miles on it when I take it out.
They charge me $10 a month......$120 a year for full coverage but they will not give me any set value coverage on the car.
Next year when it turns 15 years old I'll start looking for collectors insurance.
just my two cents. I'm looking forward to hearing other replys on this subject

If you can find a $400/year policy for a stated value of $30K and the deductable isn't $15K take it.
I checked a few companies out for stated value of $7500 for my 86 Trans Am and it was $3500/year, basically, 2 years of coverage would pay for the car, so it wasn't worth it.
On my 88 Formula, I pay $73/month for full coverage with $0 deductable and a little than higher state minumums on the property and bodily harm coverages. I get fair market value if my car is totalled.

for a 97 no..
i had my 91 on hagerty. $730 a year for 5,000 miles a year and a 50k coverage.
my 91 rs daily driver is $230 for the year with 20,000 miles and 7k coverage with all the bells and whistles on health and insurance coverage if something happens.
i know that hagerty is experimenting with late model cars so you might try contacting them. it helps to have multiple cars though.
