Gratiot tonight

I was kinda bored tonight so I decided to go burn some gas and make a couple laps on Gratiot. It wasn't long before there was a serious accident involving a guy on a motorcycle a neon. I hope that he is alright, they put him on a stretcher which is way better than a body bag. I decided to go clean my car, inside and out, as it needed it badly to waste time until the mess was cleaned up and traffic was flowing again.

I get back out onto Gratiot and make 1 lap and then I notice traffic slowing again. Then I notice police lights all lit up and another ambulance. I get up to it and there is like 3 cars all in a row with damage and about 150ft further up there is about 5 cars all with even more serious damage. WTF? Cracker Jacks isn't giving out liscenses again is it? I decided to give it up and go home before it was my turn to fill out a report.

I seriously need a different place to cruise and waste time. I've been to Woodward a couple times but I don't really know what the actual cruise area is.

Yup, Gratiot is full of 16 year olds who just got their licenses. If you wait til after midnite most of the kiddies are gone home for curfew.

Re: Gratiot tonight

I was coming home from summerset mall last night so I decided to go down woodward for the heck of it. there were TONS of muscle cars out and lotsa late model cars too. as in full parking lots here and there, one after another cruising by on the opposite side of the road. I was pretty excited. anyways, that was between 13mi. and 16 mi. might have continued farther north, but I turned south off of 16mi., so Im not sure. made me think, you know the dream cruise is only a few weeks away already. damn this summer's flyin by.

Re: Gratiot tonight

yeah i quit going for that reason....to many people who don't pay attention. m-59 has a few spots on the weekend for fun which aren't really watched. beyond that there is too much attention these days, almost as if the scene needs to die down for a year or two. i finally realized it was bad when i was at barrymore's the other night playing vollyball. two 16 year olds driving a GTS twin spec. another group of kids doing burnouts in a mcd's parking lot and another set of gangstas with 24" spinners duking it out with baseball bats over 4 15 year old girls.....car scene has become a fad more then a past time.

I went to gratiot for the first time in 2 years on saturday night and in less than 1/2 hour ended up with a f%$*($ loitering ticket. Needless to say that was the LAST time i ever even patronize roseville, let alone cruise gratiot.

Go to Telegraph and joy. much better in my opinon as far as the quality of cars and no police threats. They leave us alone.

Re: Gratiot tonight

mike that's funny....

telegraphis alright, the roads are terrible getting out there though so people who are dumb enough like myself to run 18's or larger can't really go without problems. it use to be a good time but the last few times i went (mainly fall) there were way to many under age kids drinking and doing stupid things. not exactly where i'd want to be.

Re: Gratiot tonight

Last two weekends have been my first cruising weekends this year. telegraph is the only thing within a reasonable distance with my car, so I usually hang out at the donut shop. Usually a big crowd, decent amount of parking, and the police leave us alone. I used to cruise around but my car really doesn't do that too well anymore, it's not happy at low RPM's.

Gratiot is a joke, I'll never go down there again. Damn kids and their ricers and minivans. Nothing but accident after accident.

Woodward is cool if anybody is actually cruising.
