suck it up man. you've got like 7 years before your 4 points will be gone.
dont worry though, i've got a friend that just got his 10th ,11th and 12th points on his licence.

you could try to fight it and say the cop's radar gun was off.
*shrugs* it works sometimes.

Hello sky high insurance prems, as if they weren't bad enough at your age.
It suxs man...sorry
Better buy a beater and have the ins penelty [sp?] assesed to that car if your agent is cool. Park the Ta and plate it a secondary vechical.

I'm guess tho that you got the ticket while driving the TA?

you NEED to goto court.
get it reduced, changed, or dropped.

all of my tickets are either 0 point, large fine, or 10mph or less tickets.

do you honestly think i got them for speeding less then 10mph over the limit?

a lawyer will cost more right now... but could easily pay for itself in 6 months. otherwise, you're paying more for years.

no no no. thats not true at all. someone said it right earlier. 2 years state points and 3 years for insurance purposes. doesnt matter how old you are. exc. to the ins. company cause they like it when young people get points.

Then why in the world did my brothers both lose their points they got when they were 17 as soon as they turned 18? I know the 18yo part is true for a fact.

probationary, less than a certain number of points is dropped, over it and you lose license until 18

Adam, remember when I was pulled over in KY on the way to hoebags house? That was almost 20 over and I have yet to see points posted on my insurance due to that instance. Do not worry about it yet man, if anything, call the station in OH, and talk to them. Tell them your story, you would not believe how flexible they can be when I guilt trip is applied. Anything is worth a shot, but I think you will be alright.

Yes what they said about the points is true 2 for dmv and 3 to 5 depending on the insurance company. if you have good or bad credit at some places that affects insurance prices and how long you have been going through them, i go through AAA and they give me a discount for having a good credit score and belonging to a credit union.
I pay 1,279$ a year for full coverage (0 points 33old).
so if you do get stuck with points i can give you the guy's # might be cheaper than what your paying or will be paying.

Don't freak out on this one..... I was ticket happy when I was in my early 20s. I had like 10 points all within a short period of time. The trick is not to try to move insurance companies for a while. Insurance companies do random checks of drivers records looking for tickets. You will get dinged for sure if you go to another Ins company. It is unlikely that they will find out about this ticket anytime soon, if ever.

I would also do what others had suggested by calling the station where the ticket was given and talk to the cop. Sometimes it works. You may end up with a fine and a reduced ticket. Or, go to court and ask for a probation period. This way if you don't get any tickets within a period of time your ticket drops off and is not reported out.

Good Luck!
