Unhappy Fun with a new Z06 and some problems

1st the Z06 I was following this guy out of the movie theater in Brighton and noticed he was waiting for me at the stop sign. When we both went thru the stop sign he took off hard and I didn't react because we were quickly coming up to another stop sign. when he got to the stop sign he waited for me again and this time I let him know I wanted to play. When we both got thru the stop sign he hit it hard at about a 10 mph roll I spun a little but quickly blew his mind when I not only caught right up to him but was starting to pass him when we had to slow down because of traffic. He left visibly suprised and I had to go back the other direction and meet my wife. Now for the problem my car seems to be backfiring alot and running rough, I've noticed that I'm using a little Oil lately and that there has been some on the garage floor. Any thoughts out there?

Rick, have you checked all the spark plugs? Maybe one of them messed up a ring, if it broke off in there. That wouldn't cause an oil leak though. I'd get it up on a lift & see where that is coming from. Maybe the oil filter?

The front seal on my LS1 leaks a little. Check there, too.

Doesn't your car still have a warranty?

Take it to the dealer....

Rick, Glad you are still having fun.

Sorry to hear about your problems with the car. Last I heard was back firing was unused gas?

I was hoping I could stop up sometime. Maybe we can do some dinner, I think it's our turn to take you guys out.

I got my car back and like the way it's running right now. I put down a 12.2 at milan with a not so great 60' time. I love the sound of the cam!!!!!!

Let me know what you guys are up to and lets get together for dinner, or lunch.

Take Care,

Bill,

Hey lets get together I've got to check that ride out. Call me on my cell 734 755 9909.
As for you others Harold, Mike and the rest, I haven't had any time to look at the car lately its been out a total of 20 miles in the month. I know there's a little oil on the garage floor, but I don't understand the backfiring? and I'm about as mechanically inclined as a ..well you know. any volunteers to come out and look at it and I'll buy lunch.
Rick
