Dyno Numbers Are In

Well, I just got back from Dyno Dave's. In fact, I may have been the last car to be on his Dyno since he is shutting it down. He sold it and it is being removed tomorrow. To bad, great guy and spends time with you.

Well, here are the numbers:

First Pull
397 RWHP
366 RWTQ

Second Pull
400 RWHP
379 RWTQ

So, all in all I was pretty happy. The HP graph showed the HP numbers still climbing at 6600 RPM but didn't want to push it any more than that.

Seeing that I am running only a 2800 Stall. I am making plans to move to a 3600 converter very soon. Is there any way of calculating theTQ number increase by going to a 3600 from a 2800? I was wondering if that would get me into the 410RWTQ range?

Thanks,

Bill

Hey Chris,

Just Dyno time, no tune. The car is running pretty rich. On the first pull the car put down a 11.9 AFR. On the second pull it was 12-12.1. So, there is a little more power to be had there.

My first step is to get a bigger converter. I am looking at a 3600-3800 range converter. If I can get my TQ numbers to over 400 I should be good for high 11's. I need to adjust my shift points too. On the graph the car was still climbing in the power at 6600 rpm. The car is set to shift at like 6400. So, I will try to bump that up to 6550 rpm.

So, with the new converter, adjusting the shift point and leaning the car out a bit more. I am hoping to get the 11's soon.

Are you going to the Superfest at all?

Take Care,

Bill

Re: Dyno Numbers Are In

well, Im plannin on it, but cant say positivly yet. I know I'll make it there, just not sure if I'll be able to have the time to show the car. I have almost the exact same goals as your car, hopeing to hit 400rwhp and 400 rwtq., I need to get a dyno tune, and I need about a 4000 stall. so when I hit the lottery I'll be all set, but this stuff will just have to wait till I get the funds available. might not even be till next year though. but atleast its running great. you should stop by cabella's in dundee over the weekend and say hi if you get a chance. got dads TA in the show. anways, talk to ya later.
