wondering if you know what can be done to get my car to start the first time. it isnt staying primed and it always takes 2 tries and some nasty cranking to start up

its really on my nerves and my usual mechanic is dumb(founded) i wont settle for an answer like "the lt1 is a querky engine"

your the only one i know close by so if you know anything please let me know

do you have a leaky injector? Throw a fuel pressure gauge on it, turn the key to on, but don't start it. Not the reading on the gauge and shut the car off. Come back about every 5 minutes or so and watch for the pressure to be dropping. If it does, you have a bad seat in an injector most likely. Start there and then you can trouble shoot the injectors if it does have bleed down.

Have you checked your plugs to see if any of them appear to indicate a rich condition on a cylinder? It may not be leaking enough to richen the cylinder too far...but if it is, you will have one or more plugs darker than the others. This will help narrow down the bad injector too...

Theres a check valve in the fuel system that keeps pressure from bleeding off when the car is not running.

You will get the same symptoms if this check valve fails to do it's job.
