Looking to get my 1998 Ram 2500 Painted, just trying to find some prices. Let me know what you guys would charge to paint it if I did all the prep work and bought the paint. Thanks

 

your asking for trouble doing that unless this is a vehicle you aren't planning on keeping and just trying to cover up. unless your a body man prepping it yourself doesn't guarantee much although obviously willing to take it apart and put it back together should save you 1,000 or so on the overall job.

product can varry so greatly this is also a concern. if you on that type of budget have you not considered taking it to one of those places you can spray it yourself?

most shops on average will charge you $1,000 give or take to spray a car. 1,000-1500 is in the disassemble and reassemble with some prep work and usually another 500-1000 on complete prep. then there is the product which is why your average paintjob is a 3-4k range.

nicer primers, multiple stage paints ect. all jump the price up from there. if you prep the car yourself then you throw out any guarantee or argument if your paint turns out bad 2 months down the road.

i would offer to take the car apart if i were you and let the painter do the rest. just a friendly bit of info.
