Anyone near Battle Creek want to do a little computer tech for me?

My computer (just upgraded a bunch of parts) is acting up.

Actually, everything is running good except the cpu won't fire when I set the MB to the correct clock speed. IT should be set to 133 for py Atlhon XP 2000+ (266mhz) but it won't fire unless it's at 100.

If there's anyone close (within an hour drive) that thinks they can solve it, let me know. I'll buy the pizza!

Have you tried the latest BIOS from the motherboard manufacturer? Chances are since the time it was packaged up at the manufacturer to now, there has been an update.

I'd like to help you Mike, but I don't have any experience with the AMD's. The upgrades I do for my computer will be the first time I mess with AMD's.

figured out my motherboard problem...it was actually a heat sink problem. I wasn't paying attention and put it on backwards I went out and got some artic silver thermal past, cleaned it up and reinstalled and it took right off. Runs about 15C cooler now...
and at full speed!

I did after I put the 9700 Pro in and it was around 8500-8800. I don't remember the exact number. This was on the P4 1.4Ghz with 256MB ram.

It will probably be a couple weeks before I order the new stuff.

Edit:
I ran the tests again and at 1024x768x32 I got 8968 counts
But at 1024x768x16 I only got 8974, for a benefit of 6 counts with cutting the colors in half.
