this dude a friend works with was driving to work early the morning after it happened......his wife called him to tell him she had just heard what had happened and that cops were everywhere looking for a red camaro.......as he was talking to her he got pulled over, the cop told him to keep driving till he told him to stop, and when he did stop they had the road(i think it was mound, can't remember) completely blocked off in front and behind him.........he had a gun put to his neck and then they searched his car..............maybe whoever it was comes on this board, i don't know, but he would pry have more details.......as if they needed another reason to pull over camaros for nothing other than being red.......

I am getting sick of reading about cops sticking guns at peoples heads, especially someone who hasn't done anything other than have a red car.

What would happen if the gun went off, then what? I guess that would be an accident, right? Whoops... Oh well.... Having had a cop stick a gun in my face and begging me to give him a reason to shoot me has left a bitter taste in my mouth. I often wonder why he didn't kill me and then just make up some lame story about how I tried to take his gun or something...

It's unfortunate that a police officer was killed, but going around sticking guns in peoples faces isn't going to change that. The other guy was right. Cops are people too, and it shouldn't matter who this guy killed. He murdered another person is the issue!

definately alot of bs they get away with for rediculous cercumstances. now if that guy that had a gun put to his head was mouthing off or not cooperating with them then it's his own fault.

just not right the way they are allowed to run over law abiding people because of such incidences.

Sanity Check Time.

I am skeptical about the "gun pressed to his head" stories people seem to want to tell ... I have several police officers in the family, and several good friends who do it for a living as well. Simply put - you dont pull that gun unless there is a good reason, and just driving a red Camaro isnt. Granted, there are always a few mavericks out there... but they dont last long these days before they get a lawsuit filed against them, and then they are out of work.

Right now, if it was YOUR job (being a cop) and you had to pull over red Camaros with a potential cop-killer on board... wouldnt YOU be a little more careful? If you have an IQ larger than your belt size, HELL YEAH you would be a little nervous about it. This guy sought out a cop, and murdered him. Its not like they caught him robbing a liquor store and there was a shoot out .... he WENT LOOKING for this cop. So if they pull you over, and you get all flippy, or don't act calm, THEN I could see them possibly drawing a gun.

Anyhow, I'm stating this because I see alot of anti-cop flaming BS on here lately, and its not healthy for them, or for us... I dont mean it to insult anyone's friend's cousin's brother who says he was forced to suck on a Glock last weekend. Its not outside the realm of possibility, maybe it happened. If it did, I suspect he did something to warrant that. But from the guys I know ... thats not how they operate, at all.

very true, whos to say but in most incidents and in particular the area we are talking about it isn't far fetched for something like that to happen. who knows.....i wouldn't be driving much though for awhile if my car fit the profile. that or don't be pissed when you get pulled over or questioned.

Your car does fit the profile... To a cop a red camaro is a red camaro.

Got me too...

I was thinking to myself "hey po po..." saw him on 11mile going east-bound at 11&JohnR at the front of the line.... I was going south on John-R taking a right to go west-bound on 11 mile.

I was making sure not to do anything illegal... stayed at the light, noticed the no turn on red, waited... went after green, watched my speed... and then I saw him do a U turn and come after me.... I was like... WHAT DID I DO!!!!

As getting pulled over is nothing new to me... I pulled over, turned off my car & stereo, opened the window, put my hands up at the top of the wheel and waited.

The officer asked for my license (no registration or insurance.. thought that was weird) then said the reason for pulling you over was you matched the description of someone who shot an officer earlier.... don't be suprised if others pull you over as well.

He then bolted after a red trans-am

this dude is long gone anyways........the press today made it sound as though he was like freaking del toro in "the hunted" or john rambo himself..........he was a marine, trained to survive 6'4" and 250......he couldn't make it in society.......he was quoted as saying "if anything goes wrong, i'm getting the hell outta here"....i'm guessing he's not cruising gratiot or anything.....

one cop was quoted as saying "if he's smart, he'd kill himself" ....well, shooting cops in the back of the head isn't smart, so you can rule that part out, i was just waiting for the ol' marine they interviewed in the paper to bring out the "you better have a lotta bodybags" line.....

It's apperent to me that people who say such things like "cops shouldn't be putting guns to people's heads" have no clue in how the real world is when you are a cop. It's easy to sit behind your pretty little desk at work with your cute little pictures of your wife and kids, who by the way don't have to worry about you at work hoping they won't get that dreaded phone call about you getting killed, and say what cops should and shouldn't be doing. Until you go to work and have bullets flying past your head, i don't think your opinion is valid. If you don't like the way they do things, I'd like to see you do better. What would happen if they just so happen to pull over the right camaro with the cop killer in it and not pull their gun out and "put it to his head", i think we might have 2 dead cops then. People have alot of bad things to say about cops, but they are the first person they call when s@@t goes sideways is the police. They have 1 second to make a decision, but we have forever to tear their decision apart and say what they "should have done".
