Anyone getting pulled over for having a red camaro?
Anyone getting pulled over for having a red camaro?
I don't know if you guys have heard, but Friday night a Sterling Heights cop was killed. The killer was driving a 93'- 97' Red Camaro, and because of this, I've been pulled over and searched twice in the last 4 days. I rarely drive my car, but Saturday morning I took it out and got pulled over by a couple of Shelby cops, and then yesterday I got pulled over in Rochester Hills. These are the only 2 times I've had the car out in the last 2 weeks too. I guess the guy is around 6'2 and has dark hair and a red camaro, so that is a pretty good description of me.
Anyway, I was just wondering if anybody else was getting pulled over around here. Both times I was stopped the cops said that almost anybody with a red camaro was getting pulled over and questioned.

A guy at my work got pulled over twice in 5 minutes. Once by Clinton Township and once by Shelby. He has a 98, which as we all know is different... but at the time it was just and APB for "a red late model Camaro" He's also around 6' with dark hair.
The Shelby cop told him "If you move I will shoot you."
After it was sorted out, the cops were cool to him and apologized and explained what was going on.

I don't know jack about 4th gens can anyone tell by the vin if its a Z or a base model?
I suppose if you own a red 4th gen it might not be a bad idea to keep it off the road until they find this guy.
I wouldn't make any sudden moves if I were pulled over in one either it might be detrimental to your health
Allow myself to correct...... myself....
Seems they have NOT found the car yet. Still looking for a red 1994 Z28 with a black roof and t-tops...
checking my garage
Yikes! Won't be driving my car for a bit!

Its sad that this guy just killed a cop for no reason. Cops are looking into every red camaro because the guy killed a cop and all cops want to catch this guy. Too bad that when the average citizen gets murdered nobody seems to care.
Cops are still people and I don't agree with the fact that everyone looks at them like they are different from everyone else.
Last week a friend of mine, Pat Moll (Greenoak police dept.) and a Brighton officer were after a suspect in Brighton for lighting a car on fire, they chased him (19 year old ***** who should have been in jail for killing his father 3 years ago) and he went in his room and opened fire on the police officers with an AK-47 and seriously wounded both officers before they shot and killed the suspect. Anyway, people look at it as they were cops, they should have been prepared but the truth is that most cops don't have as much training as people think, they are still human. Our society is screwed up when people will shoot at cops just because they are cops, but I also think that cops should try and catch every murderer whether they slayed an officer of the law or the average mother or father.

I agree 100% with this statement. Hopefully they find the bastard who killed the cop.

Any Canadians remember the Paul Bernardo case over 10 years ago (Niagra Falls area)?
They were looking for a 3rd gen Camaro and we got pulled over driving third gen and second gen Camaros. You would think there was a difference.
Turns out - the car he was driving did not even nearly resemble a Camaro. Some foreign car.
