Yes Chris,
I'm still using mine. First I used a Hawker Genesis, but when it started getting a bit weak I switched to the Odyssey PC680, a 14 lb. battery that'll put out 500 amps for close to twenty seconds, when necessary. I've been using the small-mass batteries since 2004.
All I do is keep it on a trickle charger when the car is parked for more than a day or so, and it's always topped off and ready for action.
Nice part here with those race batteries is that they weigh so little, you can mount them on their side in the original battery tray, and their weight is less than the mass of the cable necessary for hooking up a trunk-mounted battery.
