Sounds like a timing issue. And since you put the opti on wrong you probably broke it loose inside

sure does sound like the timing chain isnt on in the correct position. the opti only fits on one correct position, sounds like you got that the second time. when you take off the opti, try to make sure that little dowel pin in inside that hole. Id take off the timing chain cover (sorry to tell ya that, but I think its necesary at this point) again and rotate over the eng. and make sure the dots are perfectly lined up. cam gear dot at 6 oclock, crank gear at 12oclock. also, it is possible that the cam is not cut correctly. they are off slightly often so maybe you got a bad one thats just way off or something. if you dont see something w/the timing gear, then Id think the opti is maybe bad. but only after ruling out the timing chain position, plug wire locations, lash settings. I dont think any sensors could cause something like that. fireballs only mean one thing. the spark is happening when either the intake valve is open, or when the exh. valve is open. and obviously you've seen them both. intake means out the tbody, exh. valve being open is seen out the headers. good luck. if my own projects were done, Id be glad to come over and help. but my car is still not completed yet due to soo much goin on since before spring even hit.
