AGH? Sludge!!!
whenever I've purchased a car, and noticed gunk during repair (some are going to hate me for this), I just finish the repair, and sell the car.
Its just a horrible circumstance, I had it happen on a 1991 Mustang 5.0 LX back in 2001, Loved the car, but it wasn't worth it (atleast for me at the time, college was already to much), But to each their own.

Get that bull**** out of your engine. First off running synthetic in a high mileage LT1 is absurd, second Royal Purple is absolute garbage in the spectrum of things. It sheets off metal surfaces WAY too fast, and offers little to no protection at high RPM because of this.
The rear end worked great. The engine let go a few weeks later after my cam swap though. Ended up getting rid of the car as I was just about to head to college unfortunately.
Now im trying to get back into the game.

Im done with the lt1's. To much hastle now. Most are abused now and hard to come by a clean decent one.
Waiting the arival of the 2010 camaro now.
