Angry Sludge? Throttle Body?

Hey guys...I just pulled off my intake tube to check my filter and to make sure everything looks good. I noticed when I was checking the tube that there was a black oil looking sludge on the throttle body side in the tube. I checked the intake and saw the same sludge seaping out of the bottum of the intake. Looks kinda like old burnt oil but a lot thicker. I've been having problems starting it lately and didn't really think anything of it. Could this be from bad gas? Any ideas or your thoughts would be greatly appreciated...thanks

Could have been carbon build up. Wasn't very much seaping out.

Seafoam?

How hard is it to pull the throttle body off my 98 and give it a good cleaning?
