6 pm news was intresting tonight
Re: 6 pm news was intresting tonight
Civil cases for mortagage forclosures are pretty common. I'm sure they have picked up in the last 3-5 years with the amount of refinancing going on.
The tone of the news piece paints a slanted picture for something that courts are paid to address. The piece is lacking in factual information on any of the complaints because that would not make a very good shock news piece.
It's safe to assume the people in the story were short of funds to pursue the normal civil court process. So they were looking to leverage the news piece to get legal assistance. Not much else to say than let the civil courts address the two complaints which is what we pay them to do.

He is innocent until proven guilty, remember. That was a terrible piece of journalism. You could look at it another way too - that those people never made any payments and got forclosed on. There is no evidence at all. Just bad journalism in my book. The courts are pretty good at sorting out mortgage stuff - it's pretty well regulated by the feds.

Also, mortgages are highly regulated by the Feds. If we was ripping people off, he would be in criminal court. When they say that he is being sued, they are talking about civil court. These are just people who didn't make their payments if you ask me.

I wouldn't want to do business with the guy, seems kind of shady to me..
The time was served for minor white collar crime. Everyone has to set their standards for where and how they do business and who they do it with.
It just seems kind of petty to be druming on this event that occured 16 years ago when you put it next to clowns at Enron, K-mart, and all the other businesses problems these days. It doesn't rationalize it, nor justify it, but it should put some perspective on it.
