Winter Projects?
What do you have going on?
I'm still trying to get my Nova in one piece. Should make it out for some test & tune races before points start when the track opens up in February.

I need to go completely through the 23T. The motor and powerglide needs to be freshened up. I am also going to rewire the car. Lastly, I would like to get it repainted before next season.
On the Camaro, I need to replace the output shaft on the T56 since it broke at the end of this year. I also need to get the hood painted.

Well lets see.... finish my laundry room. I'm putting the drywall up now. Move my hot water heater, put in the fireplace in the family room, paint the bedroom...
Oh, wait... I guess you were talkin about the car huh?
Well in that case... I'm ripping out the interior to put in a roll bar. 12 bolt is going in, new rubber to go with the new wheels, and a major diet for the car. If I manage to get all that done by spring I have had some thoughts about putting a small shot of nitrous on it too.
This all ofcourse depends on weather or not the house gets done.

Wow, looks like everyone has their hands full!
Jim,
Good luck getting that engine and car together Jim! That's one of the few things that ARE together on my car.
Red,
You have a nice list of "to do's", don't you?! Good luck getting everything done.
Steve,
Turbo Buick, eh? Those are great cars. Check out GoDragRacing.com for some G-Body loving folk.
Rich,
You've got your hands full too.
Everyone is looking for new paint this winter eh? I fear that by the time I get the car mechanically together I'll be stuck with a $200 Maaco pain job.
Brian,
You have a nice little "honey do" list goin' on there too.
J/K Are you ever going to make to a points race??
Mike,
Did you check out LT1 tech? I'm sure someone there could at least point you in the right direction. Good luck!
So, here are some pictures of my nova progress if you're interested. Here are some more pictures on the custom headers Rick built for me. Without him, my car would still be sitting on the trailer in the yard at my dad's shop. Thank you Rick!!!
He left me a list of stuff to order from Summit today and that includes 4.86 gears, a catch can, a water neck, batter kit and shut off switch. First he wants to get it sitting on the ground rather than the jack stands. I can't really give you any more details than that, but I'm sure I have bored you already.
Anyway, good luck with the projects everyone!

My 68 Camaro with the LT1/4L60E should be arriving any day now so I'll be tweaking on that to get everything working properly. None of the gauges are hooked up, there are some AC components in place so it would be nice to get it working, needs new rear springs, need to get a posi rear under it too. I'm almost done building the bar for the house. Soon to have 2 beers on tap! That might make working on the car a little harder.
Hopefully I'll find another job so I can do my dealio. But I like time off
Heads/cam, rockers, rev kit, torque converter, gears... I have most the stuff, but I want to wait until I have everything till I start this/these projects.

Biggest plans for the winter are a stronger clutch and a lighter flywheel, other than that just some little things like rewiring some new switches for the wp, fan and line lock. I don't think I'm touching the motor anymore this winter, I'm happy with what I'm getting out of it for now. I'll probably tear into it again next winter. Possibly a 12bolt or 9" if I can work a good deal on one. We are looking at having a new house built early next year so that's going to be my main "project" for '04
Have to get my trans redone, cause I no longer have OD or drive. Maybe I'll get around to putting the cam rockers and ported heads on my car this winter. I can't wait to hit Atco after all that is done.
I'm going to try to tweek a few more CFM out of Lloyds heads. Then I'm trying to install a Mcleod Revloc II adjustable clutch with sintered iron disk, and a Blowproof bellhousing. In theory, I should be able to launch at 5K and hardly even squeek a tire.
Time will only tell. I think I'm blazing a new trail here for the F-Body crowd.
If this works, I'll bet Rich will ditch that TH400 and head back to T56 land!
