Water + Oil = Bad

mmmmm yummy!

thats what happens when it sits out in the rain

easiest thing to do Harold... put something under it to catch the cleaner... get a sprayer like a weed sprayer and fill it with solvent. Spray it down untill all the sludge is gone. The blow it off with compressed air and then take it appart for inspection.

That sludge lookin stuff is actually pretty good a protecting what it touches. Obviously its to a certain point... if you submerge it in water you done but the mix will tend to cling to everything and keep it in decent shape.

well i was in shock to see everything on the motor actually wasnt as bad as i expected it to be. there is def. alot of work that needs to be done. stock cam is shot, lifters, and the cylinder walls needs honed. But the crank didnt look to bad. im going to let him decide what he wants to do, but a 355 with a good set of rods and pistons is probably what he is going to do. how much hp can a stock crank handle?

N/A the stock crank can go pretty far. I've seen 600 hp on stock cranks. Reworked stock cranks but they were still stock...

that depends on what heads and what cam...

SR with max effort race ported LT4's/AFR's/TFS heads.... nope, I wouldnt trust a stock crank.

small HR cam like a hot cam and basic port job and I say go for it...

BTW, Harold I got your message. I'll call ya tomorrow.
