Setting up a track date

I am trying to organize a track rental for early May at New York International. There is a thread about it on www.WNYFbody.com in case anyone else is intersted, check it out.

Re: Setting up a track date

Could you tolerate a visitor from NJ?

I notice in the thread that there are concerns about T-top vehicles being treated as convertibles. Not sure, but appears that IHRA may have retracted that rule. I don't have the IHRA rule book (yet), but the 2005 rules revisions on the IHRA website indicates:
1/21/05
p. 97 RollCage/ Roll Bar: Delete the 4th sentence of the section stating, “T-top vehicles follow convertible guidelines.”

Fred, it would be great to have you join us Our track is pretty lax on the rules.....i dont think they would give you a hard time unless you broke into the 9s.

FYI, trackmasters novice driving school is May 7th and 8th at Watkins Glen International. I did one last year and had a blast! I am going to be there that weekend if anyone wants to join me I don't know if that will influence you date or not, but I thought that I would throw that out at cha.

Re: Setting up a track date

Rich, early May would be great. How about something between the 9th and 21st? I am getting married on May 28th, so after the 21st will not work for me. Mid-week is fine too.

Let me know if you need any help with setting it up.

Re: Setting up a track date

Hey guys

I have a friend with a single turbo supra that may be interested. Any problems with him going with us for the day? Let me know when you get the date narrowed down.

Thanks
Ben

Re: Setting up a track date

Rich keep me posted. If I have enough notice I might like to try and make it out. Would try and bring the new orange car out with me if I have a secure place for it.

Re: Setting up a track date

Anyone who wants to. AFAIK there is no problem with spectators, only those running need to pay.
