ohio anyone
Speaking of Mansfield, did anyone else notice that the track's website has pulled down all of the events it had previously posted?
On March 2 they announced the "national event" was being moved from June to September 21-23.
A few days later they posted 3 new June events (a Thursday test and tune, a weekend Quick 32 plus test and tune, and a weekend "Bracket Bash") on the website schedule.
Now every single "drag strip" event is gone from the website and the Drag Strip Schedule has a March 30th update that simply says "OPENING DATE MOVED BACK DUE TO DELAYS" with absolutely no explanation or revised timeline.

I've wondered all along if this track was just a pipe dream (way too much money to spend to create a brand new facility in an area that is already saturated with existing tracks / no way to get a reasonable return on their investment / IHRA trying to take the spotlight off of Norwalk's move to NHRA).
What do the rest of you make of this recent series of events?

I think the track will open for the national event and that will be it, the tracks in that area (except for Norwalk) are very poor and not well kept.
The owner of the track Mike D. is a pretty good guy and he is trying to do the right things for the drag strip by not opening prior to the facility being "ready" instead of done.

If so, that will be a disappointment (or breach of contract) for a number of organizations who have events scheduled at MMP for later this season.
That would include the Drag News All-Star Tour event and the GM Tuner Bash that are both scheduled for July as well as the United Manual Transmission Racers event scheduled for August.

If you want to update, great, but why be a dick about it?
Go lurk somewhere else now....

I wonder if your one of the guys I met when I was up there for the Porche race. I had the Red LT1 Z28. I'd think about joining if I wasnt leaving the state in a few weeks.
