ohio anyone
Ohio
Cuyahoga Falls/Bedford here. I got my car back on the street and sorting out a couple of minor bugs but other than that its ready for the track, if there will be any left by the end of this year
Quaker city is gone, dragway 42 is down to 1/8 mile, Magnolia supposedly is only going to stay open 1 more year. Right now all thats leaft is Norwalk, Thompson and maybe Mansfield for any serious 1/4 mile cars and they will be packed.
D42 will be back to 1/4 mile next year. Track has to be re-done again since they were screwed royally by the construction crew that just renovated the track - if you want to call it that.
Jack and Toby are making huge strides there - new burnout area, optional index classes, digital timing lights, better spectator lighting, etc...

Oh and they are open tonight for Test and Tune.

Faster cars, ie - 12.99 and faster I think - are limited to the 1/8. The end of the track is not safe for faster cars.
All test and tune events are unlimited and unrestricted 1/4 mile. Friday night had 8 second dragsters, 9 second turbo Buicks, and 11 second late model GTO's.
The IHRA Division 3 Bracket Finals is being run on the 1/8th mile distance this year (at Pittsburgh Raceway Park) so Dragway 42 is running the quickest 3 of their 4 Summit SuperSeries classes on the 1/8th mile this year.
Want to run as quick as you can on the 1/4 mile in competition? Show up on any Wednesday Night at Dragway 42 and enter the "Anything Goes" class. It's a 0-12.99 class run on the 1/4 mile. Can't get the car quite that quick? There are 3 other "All-Run" "DOT Tire" bracket classes running the 1/4 mile on Wednesday nights.
Akron Horsepower Street (a money class) at the Summit SuperSeries point series events is a 12.00 and slower, 1/4 mile class scheduled to run on 10 Sunday afternooons and 9 Saturday nights this season.
It's amazing what can be found by visiting the track's website and reading the track's monthly emailed newsletters.

Do you just make this stuff up as you go along?

Very nice - thanks for pointing that out.
The info that the test and tunes would be 1/4 mile wasn't "new". It was posted on the track's website clear back on January 28th.
Read through the story titled "2007 Dragway 42 Season Overview and Details Announced" in the sections titled "Friday Night Program sees addition of Index Class racing" and "Tuesday Night Program".

I see you posting on lots of message boards in the area. Maybe you should share the good news! (Especially if you've been telling people for the past few months that the track is only running 1/8th mile).
Yes, I was there Friday night.

Thanks again - I may just do that. What other local boards are you on?
