NYIRP Friday?

Anyone going out to NYIRP friday night? I will probably be out there with my car and my brothers car for some T&T. Let me know if any of you local boys are planning to go.

The weather looking good so it looks like I will be there tonight. If the humidity stays low I might be able to get a little closer to that all mighty 10 sec pass.

BTW - Did Rich set up the track day he was talking about a while ago?

My car is on the dyno now. I will be there next Friday if no problems arise in tuning. I will post here to let folks know, so we can meet up if possible. I will be in the paved area, if all goes well!

red, as far as the track day....I think we are going to do it in the fall for a number of reasons. Richs car was not ready this spring, my car is down, Matt and Coats' cars were/are down, plus the fall has alot better weather for racing.

Everyone's car will be finished by then, so hopefully we will have our own track day then.

T56s are pretty strong, I wouldnt sweat it. If you do have trouble, send it to D&D for some cryo treatment and that will pretty much handle 9sec passes....that is what I did.

Hopefully I will see some 9s on spray this year.

Well it looks like the T56 didn't handle it. On the last pass last night somthing let loose on the launch. The shifter jumped out of 1st gear and there was some pleasent banging sounds. I can still move the car under power but there are some hard banging sounds comming from the trans area. I guess I will know for sure when I get it torn down

BTW - How much did the cyro treatment cost you Jason?

red, how did you end up running on friday (other than the tranny problems)?

D&D changed their prices some, but I think the cryo mainshaft treatment is ~$300. Well worth it in my opinion. You can get alot of parts cryoed, but it adds up.

Were you launching on spray I assume?

Thanks, Jason

red, also....do you have the 3-4 steel shift fork? Not only does that thing help out in that area, but also keeps things more rigid thru most of the assembly (dynamically). Well worth the $49 it costs

Thanks for the info Jason. The car was running pretty good. The best of the night was a 11.21 @ 122 MPH with a 1.58 60'. That was on the motor. I have not hooked up the spray yet.

I do not have the steel fork. The tranny is totaly stock with a SPEC stage 4 ceramic clutch. It may be a while before I can get the trans out and check it out. I have too many things lined up this week to even begin pulling it apart. Looks like I will be saving some money in entry fees and fuel over the next couple of weeks

Good NA times!

Go with a street twin and an upgraded tranny.....my car became alot more enjoyable to drive when I put the street twin in (no problems, solid engagement). Definatly get the viper (steel) 3-4 shift fork. The "feel" of my tranny after D&D rebuilt it was alot more solid as they take the time to put it together in almost a blueprinting manner. Definatly worth the money for me.....I will never go with an auto.
