Maple Grove Oct 12 6' Trophy

There is a 6' trophy up for grabs at Maple Grove on Sunday October 12th. This is bracket racing in the Trophy Class. $30 to enter and gates open at 8:00am. First time shot is scheduled for 9:00am and the trophy class is the first called to the lanes. I plan to skip the trophy class and run in street. http://www.maplegroveraceway.com

Lets see hummm got my a$$ kicked. After a loooong day of crashes, oil downs and tree failures, I lost 1st round. It was a very light turnout (about 250 cars) and most of the regulars either stayed home or were at the big $$$ races at Cecil and Numidia. Just before the race, I changed front brake pads, added a cold air system, changed tunes, and had a brand new set of drag radials. Needless to say the car was all over from a dial-in. First time shot at 9:21am, I was .074, 2.134 and 13.646 @ 101.15. Ran faster by .2 than expected with the changes. Next time shot was at 1:03 and I expected to run .04 slower hahhhhhahha. .051, 2.176, 13.7888@100.39. Car slipped in a little deep but wow did it slow down. Ouchie momma. Time for eliminations at 4:09, yes a long long day, I expected another slow down of .02 so I dialed a 13.81. Went against "dead on" Denny dialed at 12.55. I was .060 against his .051. Not our usuall first round reaction times. I backed in on the top end and took stripe by .0214 (pretty good job on the top end). Denny stayed in it and ran it out to a 12.555. I broke out by .025. Race was un-winable on the top end due to the lights and him running dead on with a 5.

It wasn't a bad loss, at least.

Someday we'll get my car back together. I'm REALLY itching to get back out there. I don't need to run points or anything but I least want to have the option of going and racing my own car whenever I want!

Well I wasn't happy with my lights. Last time I was out was 4 weeks ago. I don't know if it was me or the "new" tune. Lights felt like they should of been in the .030 range. It took me all year to get the car dialed into the tree. Oh well. I should also add that I scrubbed off .07 and still broke out. I guess the 4' mov wasn't good. lol.

I do like the ease of running the Mustang. Drive to the track, unload the trunk, tech in, put the numbers on, and race. I don't even have to drop the rear tire pressure. Still have the winter to decide what I'm doing next season. The Mustang is pretty good with my old tune but not as forgiving as the Firebird. I might do RP again with the stang and MG with the Firebird. Both cars launch the same way, deep staged at 1600rpm. I did learn a lot about the starting line this season. Some and some

Well some of your MG racers were at Numidia the past weekend and kicked some butt too!

Forget the guys name, White Vega, "Paul's convertors" ( honestly, not the prettiest car), but man he was on the tree both days and ran the numbers with it. Funny though the semi racers did a 4 way split for the payout. Harhart just took the money at that point. he he he, he was messing with people so bad! He was all over the place with his dial-in! 14.42, 14.60, 14.52, 14.43, 14.54. Never seen anyone do dial-ins like him.

Well the race season is over and the car never seen the 1320. I'm depressed but hoping to change all that next year.
