Red face Help me find a "friendly" shop for NJ inspection

The shop that did it last time for me wouldn't do it again, cause they got in trouble for passing someone. Anyone know a shop for me? Please?

My car is a little loud and the windows are a little dark to pass.

I'm desperate.

I'm sure you know why you are having trouble.... if the DMV mobile inspection team finds a car with non-conforming parts, emissions, etc., the owner of the shop that put the sticker on the car is liable for a $10,000 fine and 6 months in prison. And there seems to be more reports of sightings on the mobile inspection teams and their random roadside checks every day.

The DMV is also sending "rigged" cars into the private shops, and if the shop does not find the defects, they are laible for fines. A friend of mine has been in a "special" DMV court twice, where you are not permitted to have an attorney present..... this is a serious problem of "gestapo" type tactics. The days of performance cars in NJ seem to be limited .

Yeah I hear ya. It sux. Surely you have to know someone that could help me. After all, I remember reading you saying you were probably going to put in Hooker LT's and ditch the emissions and make it a "race" car. Help a brutha out.

Good luck, but the state of Nj comes down so hard on shops that do it there just as tight as the DMV..I couldnt even have a mechanic at a shop my uncle runs "help" me out a little in fear of him loosing his licence to inspect. Im outta this state as soon as bootcamp, this state has sapped me dry long enough...Good luck though

Hey Injuneer94FormM6, how often and what areas do the DMV mobile team do their checks? I have'nt seen them around here(not that I want to). What would happen if say they put your car on their portadyno and the emissions check out fine but when they take a look under the hood they see LT headers with all the hookups there? This sucks man, looks like E.O. parts are the only way to go in this damn state.
