CC304 emissions legal in NJ?
CC304 emissions legal in NJ?
My brother is looking at a z28 in new york with a cc304 in it. I just want to make sure it will pass emissions in NJ before I give him my opnion on the car. I'm preety sure it will, but just want to know for sure.
anything with a cam in it is technically "legal" but a cc304 will pass a sniffer test its it is properly set up. What year is it? 96 and newer OBD2 cars dont even get a sniffer anymore, they just scan the pcm and check for faults.

Brian,
not all cars had obd2 til 97 or 98 (i forget), long story short, 96's don't get obd2'd unless something has changed within the past 2 months.
94 was OBD1 so it will have to pass a sniffer. It should not be a problem if its tuned properly and all emmissions related devices are working properly.
E... the change over was in 95. All 96 and newer are OBD2 (we are talking f-body here) There are a few 95 OBD2 cars floating around but they are not that comon. Most 95's were OBD1.
