Re: atco nj

I'll be there for most of the points races. Can't say all because I wussed out in the 42* weather last week and stayed home. I'm thinking about doing the same tomorrow too.

I'll probably be at the 2 Philadelphia Modifier's races b/c it's kind of tradition in my family.

I'll be at the Powder Puff race on Mother's Day (it's free!).

I'll be at a few Tuesday night gambler's races.

I'll be at some of the bigger events - NSCA, NMRA, etc but not to race - only to spectate. And I'll try to make the Q8 & Index races. If I had a 12. or 10. second car that met the rules I would try to go a couple of rounds too but I don't.

If the weather suits you I may actually see you on May 27 ?????
Don't you have access to the Ugly SS 12.00000OH car in your rent-a-racer fleet? I was checking out the stats and Mr. Harvey did take command of your Nova last weekend I'm gona try to apply the teachings of Bud tomorrow at the Grove in the seaon opener. Going to take a "leap of faith" and stage the car deep just like the ATCO killers.

Deep staging is when you roll (or bump) out of the pre-stage beam. This makes you closer to the finish line, however, it makes for a slower ET and slower 60' time. If you (or your car) reacts slow, it will help to improve that because you're closer to rolling out of the beams all together. Another advantage to deep staging is that it can help to make you more consistent because you are taking away a few inches of variables that can cause inconsistencies.

If that isn't clear, maybe Jim can better explain it to you.

And yes Jim - I should be there on May 27th. I don't see why I wouldn't be that time of year unless there's rain. The ugly SS has been striped of it's motor. He wants to put his monte back together so the SS is running in the 13 range again. My brother's Eclipse might be a good 12 second car though... Hehe...

Dave said he loved my car. The only thing he didn't like about it is that I have no mirrors yet. I'm working on that. He did a GREAT job in it though. Maybe someday I can take my own car to 4th round.

I'm getting ready to enroll in Bud's school. Got the tax refund so I have the extra cash now. I just don't know when I'm going to find the time!!!

Jax is correct its closer to the beam. It slows your ET by about a .1 but in bracket racing you just the dial-in. Theres a lot of advantages going deep.

Jax, TAKE BUD'S COURSE NOW. He was really flexable in scheduling my class. If the mirrors were on the car Dave may of went even further. Rick gave me the story. Tomorrow will be my first time out in the teal car since last season. I hope I can do a little better than I'm doing in the 'vette.

Thanks for the rain Jim. I heard a rumor that it always rains on Maple Grove's first points day.

We're off this coming weekend for the divisional season opener. You have a double, don't you?

Your welcome for the rain. It doesn't always rain on MG's opening day, sometimes it snows. I just love sitting in the pits for 3 hours waiting for the official cancell.

Yea, its a double weekend (Sat and Sun). I guess a lot a ATCO people will be comming up on Saturday. You and Rick? I hope to see some AR cars in the opposite lane.

May... I might have a running car by then

Spoke to the machine shop today and the block checked out ok. It needs a little work but he is putting together a price for a light weight fogred 355 adn a little more of an econo forged 355. Once I pick one out he said 3-4 weeks and it will be ready. Hopefully I can join you all for a few points races later this year.

Jim,

Are you still parking the same place at the Grove? I might load up and head down there Saturday. I'm doing SM on Sunday opener so the Saturdy at MG may be overload for me. It'll probably be crazy with cars there if ATCO cars show up also.

Steve , they dug up where I use to pit. I move up towards the stageing lanes. Don't know if I'm gona make it on Saturday. I been sick with a virus since Monday. This is the first day I'm up. I can't remember the last time I was out sick from work 4 days in a row. I'm taking friday off and just see how I feel Saturday morning. Right now it wouldn't be wise for me to drive.

Re: atco nj

Jim,

Sorry to hear you're feeling like crap. My wifey went through the same deal 2 weeks ago and still isn't really 100%. Looks like possible showers on Saturday so my MG plans may get turned into spring yard work

Hope you're feeling better

Stick Man Steve
