Question When does your season start?

Atco starts running points on March 15th. Unfortunately, I will not be out until at least August.

When does your track start running points?
Are you ready?

Atco has been open since Feb 2 but points racing doesn't start until March 15.

They're one of the few tracks around here that only closes for a couple of weeks in the winter.

Maple Grove starts the 2003 points season on April 1st. The Grove has 24 races scheduled for 2003 I do want to hit ATCO next Sunday (weather permitting) and then E-town every Saturday in March in an attempt to dial-in the new setup. I can't wait to try out the Turbo 400. Car doesn't feel as strong with the auto. We will see. I'm ready. Car is ready. Weather is not ready

TnT year round ... Summit Points started on 1-1-03. But I haven't been out yet ... hopefully by next month.

Cars all screwed up ... put in H/C and still don't have a tune on it.

Took it out to TnT last Saturday 4 passes, trany's slipping ... 12.55@110 and 12.44@111 on the stock tune and a 12.08@113 and a 12.01@114 on my old race tune ... but it was hookin' good ...

Last points race is in October with the track championship held in November. We pretty much run year round down here. The track is only closed from Dec 13th till first week in January.

Steve...
Atco is similar to yours - they usually close up for 2 weeks from Christmas into the first week of January. The problem up here, however, is that if the temps are below freezing, they don't open. So, even though they're scheduled to open, they don't always actually open!

How many points races does your track have? I'm guessing that missing one week isn't such a horrible thing down there?

Our points run from March to September and NED's (NorthEastern Division Bracket Finals) are held usually the last weekend of September or the first weekend of October.

One of these years we're coming down to West Palm Beach to Moroso for the 5 day bracket race. Someday...

We have three tracks within daily driving range. Winterport is 2 1/2 hours North and is a 1/8 mile unsanctioned strip, http://www.oxfordplainsdragway.com is IHRA and 1/8 mile (formerly NHRA), and http://www.newenglanddragway.com is also IHRA (formerly NHRA). The next closest track is Englishtown which is a 7 1/2 hour trip for me. I will try and make the GM shootouts but for a couple hundred bucks it is hard to justify the trip and the expense.

BTW: That is my car on the front page of New England Dragway.
