Question ZR1 Rear Wheels Question on size and...

I am thinking about getting true rear ZR1 wheels for my Z. First I was told they are 17 x 11. Is this right? Also would there be any fitment issues that I need to know and finally where can I get some?

Thanks
Eddie

This is going to get moved to the new "Wheels & Tires" forum, but in the meantime.....

The ZR1 rear wheel is a 17x11 with a 36.5mm offset. Put that on a 4th Gen F-Body and the tire sticks about 1/2" outside the wheel well. The Grand Sport Corvettes had 17x11 rear wheels also, but they were 50mm offset, which puts the tire just under the edge of the fender on an F-Body. But it M-A-Y require some hammering of the inner fender panels, cutting the edge off the jounce bumper bracket, or even recentering the body over the axle with an adjustable panhard rod. To some extent it depends what tire you put on them.... a 315 BFG drag radial will probably rub, but a Nitto 315 drag radial might not because it is a narrower tire.

Problem with a "genuine" Grand Sport wheel, if GM even sells them any more, is that they come in black painted finish, and you would have to have them stripped and painted if you wanted silver.
