Z28 or Trans Am

I know they are basically the same car, but I heard a Trans Am is faster than a Z28. Is this true? Also, are Dodge Stealths fast? I have a friend who wants one and says they are faster than LT1s and LS1s.

Stealths are NOT faster than Z28's or Trans Am's. Not by a long shot...

No, Stealths arent fast unless they are the R/T(twin turbo). Trans Ams are no faster then Camaro Z28's. They are the same car with a different shell.

I' ve always thought that t/a's were a bit heavier. Every hundred pounds is a tenth!

T/A's are a bit heavier. They have every bell and whistle GM could put on them. But all in all, they are the same car as far as HP and torque.

If 93-97, get a Z28. If 98-02, get a T/A

I disagree... not that a 'maro doesn't look good but the T/A's have this one IMO.

Oh, and as for the Stealth... The top-line Stealths and 3000GTs are 320HP, 325 TQ, 3700lb. six-speeds.

My Formula is a 275HP, same TQ, only slightly lighter, automatic. I should think it would beat my LT1. So I wouldn't be so quick to say the Stealth can't even touch ANY fourth-gens.

True words of wisdom, couldn't be more accurate. IMO 93-97 birds are DOG ugly, but 98-02's make up for it, thats for sure.

Re: Z28 or Trans Am

a 93-97 camaro over a -93-97 T/a????? NO WAY!!!!!! T/a looks way better, interiod is definately better, and well for every 5 camaros you see out in the road you say 1 T/a.

the 96-97 Ws6 still looks really good, i beleive it looks better than the 93-97 camaros

Re: Z28 or Trans Am

Stealth TTs are faster than LT1s. I used to own a 3000GT twin turbo (same relation to Stealths as camaro -> Firebird)

I like the styling of a trans am myself. I have a formula and stock, no weight reduction (except the hood) and it weighs 3270lbs. Check out the pics, in my sig. I have an Ultra Z wanna-be hood on my Firebird. Yes it's fuctional.
