Don't want to add fuel to the fire but a 58mm TB is useless with a 10-14psi blower? 250 shot of N2O?

Everyone holds their convictions as far as a 58mm TB goes...people who use it love it...people who don't use it shun it...

It's all a matter of opinion...

I don't know about the great TB debate, but I would put one on if someone gave it to me . However, out of the 2-3 aftermarket ones I have tired, I have had some kind of idling issue .

As for the TB debate...every car is different...I say if you're happy with the 58mm TB and the sweet sucking sound it produces with a cai...then more power to ya...

For those of you who don't like it...just don't buy it...

Pretty simple..huh?

The OD of my Moroso is 3 1/2". The Z06 MAF is 4". So unless you have a 4" CAI it won't help. I tried a friends and saw no gain, using my Scanmasters GPS readings. Since the CAI's for an f-body are made for the 3.5" MAF, you would have to custom something up.

I didn't do this for a performance gain - it was cheaper than a new Fbody MAF. However, any decrease in restriction is a good thing.

You have to recalibrate the MAF table for the Z06 piece (maybe you tried one that was already calibrated?). Also, just because you don't see higher numbers on the MAF doesn't mean it doesn't help. The only way to tell would be to go to a track and swap them, or dyno. Again, I don't really care about the hp (I was just trying to save a couple bucks!), but I guarantee that if anyone had a choice between the two they'd go with the larger one, all other things being equal.

The grams per second reading of the MAF is a good indication of the hp you're making, as long as you compare under the same atmospheric conditions. More air, more hp. It was calibrated for the LT1.

I've personally never used that method. I could use a Gtech or race someone else' car to get an idea how much power I'm making, but its still a very crude way to measure a power increase. Without a back to back dyno or track run, its bench racing and hearsay...

...oh wait, that's what makes the internet so cool!

I won't beat this horse anymore. I'm just trying to post some info incase anyone else was interested. Honest!
