Your opinion on my 383 project
Good ! that's what I was looking for !
btw How do you think the driveline will hold up?---> clutch (looking at SPEC II or III)?, t56(stock)?,driveshaft(stock steel......),and last but not least...the diff(also stock 3.42)?

3:42 will be a good gear for nitrous and a stroker. I have trouble with traction with the 3:73s. As long as you dont run ET streets and the like the stock rear will hold for a good while .
Drive shaft and tranny are not usually a problem...rear will go before they do. My posi is hurtn right now.
Want be a problem to bang out 12.xx with that combo.

Thanks for the input guys ! I'll try it with the hotcam for now, as budget does not allow me to purchase another cam just yet...
we'll see how it does and then if i find the need i'll just change the cam!

with light head porting the hotcam would be ok, but you would get alot more out of it with a bigger cam, I run the XE 230/236 with my 383 (lightly ported LT-4 heads) and i'm shifting at 6500 and It feels like its still not hitting peak power. You really dont need to do dish pistons to run spray on that motor. Even with 54.5 CC combustion chambers you could get a flat top somwhere in the high 10s for compression and have no problem with a shot up to 150 or so. I run flat tops with 11.1 CR and I run 40 degrees of spark advance with 0 detonation, even on 92. I plan on spraying 75- 125 next year.
