Your choice on a built 383 LT1
Your choice on a built 383 LT1
I've got a few questions about a setup I'm wanting to run on a 93 TA. I want it to be a fully built 383 with 18* broadix heads, not sure what cam yet, of course a built drivetrain and the suspension will be completly redone. I started thinking about running a rear mount turbo but don't really know all that much about them. I am also thinking about the same setup without the turbo but with a nice healthy shot of nitrous, maybe a 200 shot or somewhere in there. Would the 18* heads benifit the turbo setup or hurt it? I know there are a lot of people running the 18* heads and making awesome power out of them but I started thinking why not put a turbo on too. If the heads would be pointless on a turbo setup I don't really want to waste the money on them. Also what kind of cams would go good with a turbo setup and what are good cams for a nitrous setup? I know LS1 cams and what's good for what but I've never really thought about getting into an LT1 until now. I'm not really worried about daily driver use as it would just be going to the track and driven on weekends when I get the urge to play.

Have the heads ported with the turbo in mind, also have a camshaft that complements holding the intake charge and increasing exhaust power.
But If I were to build an 18 degree head motor I would start by Picking Mindgames brain, he has one, Build it though for the nitrous and that thing will move big time.

Regardless of what you plan to do, Turbo, nitrous, or both, remeber to build it once. Build the motor to withstand the harshes condition you will be running (Turbo + Nitrous) and then some. Pay for it now, or pay for it later is the moto ive been goin by latley when doin stuff to my car.
