XE 224/230 good enough to blow tranny on 1st day
i finished up my lloyd elliot heads and xe 224/230 on saturday morning. it lopes harder than what i expected. i have a stock stall and power doesnt really come in after 2500. i put 400 easy miles on her and opened her up from 10-80mph and she felt really strong. but on the way home overdrive slipped a little. i let it cool off and took out later that night and run her hard from 0 to 115 very quickly and pulled very hard despite slipping hard on the 2-3 shift and most of 3rd gear. now i have no 3rd and 4th gear
and im in the market for a built tranny and TC
i guess you could say it ran pretty darn good to tear the tranny out after 2 wot blasts.
the cool part about this is before doing the complete heads/cam install i had never touched a valve cover

I bet.. Iwish i had some heads and a cam.. .. But hey go w/ a bigger stall if you want the best result's at the strip.. put you nicely in your power band.. i'd say a 3K minumum.. and that won't affect your around town driving too bad either.. goodluck w/ the new setup...
