WTF is wrong with my car? SOMEONE PLEASE help!

Wednesday I'm on my way to school, halfway through my community doing 30mph all of a sudden the RPM's drop and I press the gas, nothing happens, then the RPM's shoot up and the car jumps forward...happens about 4 times. I bring the car home, park it and take my mom's car to school. I got home and the car drives fine, figured it was crap in the fuel system or something.

Yesterday, I'm on my way to school, at the same exact time in the same exact spot it happened the day earlier, it happens again, does it twice with the RPM's dropping.

Today, I'm on my way to school at the same time, and it happens again in the SAME spot in my community. After that it was fine but I could notice a little hesitation. At idle the RPM's fluctuate ~100 RPM's back and forth, and while moving if I put it in neutral the RPM's jump back and forth from 600 to 1000 constantly.....

My cars motor is stock with new plugs, wires and O2 sensors with 84,000 miles. I cleaned out the MAF and TB/IAC not too long ago too, so those are most likely out of the question.

actually had similar problem...had to take moms car to school.I see you have a SLP cold air intake ..... Make sure the intake elbow does not have any leaks(even a rip in the elbow)... and make sure the MAF is connected to the intake. The rubber connecting the MAF and intake were not sealed up properly, so the motor was crapping out everytime i started it..it would stall too.....soon enough the fixed all the leaks and back school I go.

It could be something else but check that first. you got nothing to lose.

Let me kno what happens

Thanks....

I'm positive everything in the intake tract is hooked up...

Any other ideas?

SWEET car!! If I can find some used Torq-Thrusts I'll get them, but $1200 new is too much for me

Something similar happened to me when I was having problems with my MSD Coil. Got a replacement one and hasn't happened since.

Thanks.....I guess I'll start by changing the coil and checking fuel pressure or something.

Hi Matt!

Be sure to get your self a Accell Coil. I got one it makes a little difference. Just ask Rafter Z28!

I replaced my stock coil with a Accell coil I can't remember the part number but if you are interested I will look it up for you!

Have a goodone Lee!

If it's happening at exactly the same spot in town, look at what's around there.....you may be getting some high frequency electrical interference.....long shot, but.......

It's a gated community, strictly residential....no radio towers or anything......

After cleaning the MAP sensor, it feels like it's running better, so who knows...maybe that did the trick. We'll see how it is tomorrow.

You're saying that your car runs great, EVERYWHERE EXCEPT ONE SPOT? Sounds like electrical interference to me.

Does one of your neighbors have a ham radio or something?
