Would it be worth it to replace just the bearings in my 94 LT1?

Hi,

I have a 94 B4C camaro that WAS used as a persuit vehicle for about 83K then was sold when the LS1 cars were introduced. But my car keeps good oil pressure and all but its pushing 97K now and i know its been ran hard all its life. Would it be a good idea to just swap in a set of bearing if a compression test shows good? Im gettin ready to to do some heads and cam. Maybe a 100 shot of nitrous. Any help would be greatly appriciate. Thanks alot.

You may not need it...if the car was maintained properly then I'd say you may be throwing your money away...would you be doing the work yourself? If so you may just drop the pan and take a look at the rotating assembly make sure there's nothing noticably wrong...my dads car ran 150k as a pursuit vehicle ran strong the whole time...when he died it was still running strong...

Well im pretty sure the engine what very well maintained cause I pulled the valve cover just to see who the valve springs were (they need replaced with my 987-16s) and it was SPOTLESS! I was very surprised how clean it was. There was no oil crud or anything on the inside of the valve cover, but I have missed a few shifts sence i have put the T56 in it and its seen the high side of 6500 or so. At least thats what my tach says but I think its wrong cause I had my friend set the rev limiter at 6300 when it was an auto. I will take your advise and pull the pan and see how things are and cut open the filter and see if there are any metal shavings in it. Thanks for the info.
