Would This Work.

I currently have a Borla Exhaust, MAC headers, Y-pipe and off road pipe. I have an electric cutout installed on my Borla, but was wanting to install it on a cut out. My question is can I install a cutout in my off road pipe? How long is a cutout? Also how much will it change the sound of my exhaust with a cut out, instead of just running straight out of my Borla? Thanks.

it isn't going to do much for ya buddy
your exhuast is flowing plenty with the borla open.

for your info though a cut out is about 12'' long or so depending on the brand.

now give me that hood

I'm not really looking at a cut out for performance, but for sound. I was just wondering how much of a sound difference it would be....if any?

with the borla fully open i don't think you'll see much of a sound difference

I'm thinking the same. I think it'll be a very minimal sound difference...

Having owned a Borla kit and a cut-out, the cut-out is quite a bit louder both in and outside the car. The Borla WO is loud, the cut-out screams.

Sweet. Thanks guys.

97Bowtie, did you have the cut out with headers or manifolds? Also did you have the cats installed with the cutout? And where did you have the cat welded in at? I removed my cat when I did the headers, so I'm basically running open headers right now, but am wondering how much it will change the sound letting the exhaust exit that much sooner? Basically I just want it to scream when I open the cut out. It does now, but LOUDER is BETTER!

BTW I love the color of your car. Was that a stock color on the 97's?

I don't have cats on my car and I have had headers w/the Borla as well as w/the cut-out. Like I said, the cut-out is quite a bit louder.

Thanks. Yes, the color was offered from 1996-1998 - its a rare color. I've only seen a handful of Camaros (maybe 5) in Cayenne Red in the 2 1/2 years I've owned the car.

I've only seen 1 other T/A like mine too. Nice to see another cayenne red F-body.
