Re: would this work....

Well, a couple things come to mind: With the intake so close to the ground, you could possibly suck up a lot of dust and clog the filter in short order; also, if the pavement is really hot( like in the summer time) the heat would probably be hotter than the ambient temp and even hotter than the engine compartment thus negating the benefit of getting cooler, fresher air to the filter and beyond.

Now if you could somehow have (2) smaller radiators with the same or greater capacity than the (1) radiator with a 6" gap in between them and then run a plenum through your front bumper where the red bowtie is and then go as straight as you can to a conical K&N or Holley filter attached directy to the TB, then maybe you could maximize the quanity and quality of the air reaching the intake.

The radiator is what prevents any type of frontal intake opportunity: however the pontiacs have the right idea by introducing air as straight as you can get what with the radiator in the way, using a flat filter.

You'd probably have to shroud the conical filter a bit with a collar to minimize under-the-hood air competing for admission.

Perhaps you might attain the same type of system by lowering the radiator and going over the top--I don't know.

You might check out the availablity of small radiators or talk with a radiator fabricator.

Hell, I obviously don't know.
